Michael Jackson's estate pulled one for the books early this morning, as they premiered (perhaps, the first ever) video for "A Place With No Name" via Twitter and a simulcast in Times Square in the wee hours of the day. The Samuel Bayer-sculpted video (think "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "What Goes Around") appropriates footage from earlier visuals (particularly Jacko's dreamy '91 cut "In Th Closet") to the tune of the "contemporized" single from the posthumous XSCAPE LP, which is still getting plenty of play 'round these parts.

It stands right in-line with the visual set we received for the album's lead-off single "Love Never Felt So Good," blending classic and iconic footage of MJ with additional cuts from the director du jour. No matter where you stand on the contemporizing debate (personally, I'd rather those demos stay precisely as they were) it's always nice to see something from/for the king. Just as long as it's not the creepy as all hell hologram. That ish ain't right. Go ahead and get your nostalgia on. Watch the video for Michael Jackson's "A Place With No Name" below. Cop the impressive Timbaland-led XSCAPE LP via iTunes today.
