Pass The Popcorn: Lupita Nyong'o May Be Joining The Cast Of 'Black Panther'

Hate to say we told you so, but it looks like Black Panther may be getting its female protagonist in the weeks ahead. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lovelyLupita Nyong'ohas entered negotiations to join the Black Panther roster alongside the film's lead, Chadwick Boseman, who made his debut as T'Challa in the recently released Marvel blockbuster, Captain America: Civil War.

Nyong'o is being considered for the role of T'Challa's love interest, though a name for the character has yet to be revealed. Assuming she lands the gig (and we're certainly pulling for her) it will follow roles in massive productions like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and more recently, The Jungle BookCurrentlyBlack Panther is slated for a February 2018 release with production expected to start at the top of 2017 with Creed''s Ryan Cooglerat the helm as the film's director. Expectations are high, to say the least, but with the hopeful addition of Nyong'o, the film may finally hit the star power it needs to meet them.

Nothing's set in stone just yet, so keep your eyes on us for updates on one of the most anticipated Marvel projects on their docket.
