L.A. Producer Lost Midas Continues To Prep Fans For The Forthcoming 'Off The Course' LP With The Release Of "Off The Course" (Captain Supernova Chariot Mix).
LA producer Lost Midas follows the live video for the stunning single "Head Games" - a collaborative track featuring vocals from Audris - with the premiere of "Off The Course" (Captain Supernova Chariot Mix) - a rework of the lead single from the Off The Course LP. The rework - a spacious, extra-terrestrial anthem that boasts ample subs and an air of the metaphysical - is the latest from Lost Midas in celebration of the single's September 23rd release via Tru Thoughts. The genesis of Captain Supernova's take on the recording and its significance are explained as fans sink their teeth into the gorgeous follow-up to Lost Midas' Memory Flux and Hyper Phase EP's:
An alluring sliver of alternative pop, this single highlights the mix of analogue and digital, of modern and timeless, at the heart of the Lost Midas sound. As sonically arresting as it is thematically thought-provoking, “Off The Course” was inspired by concepts absorbed from the book A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which Jason Trikakis – the drummer-turned-producer behind the Lost Midas moniker - was reading at the time of making it. The vocal, heavily manipulated yet still deeply emotive and affecting, is woven into an inventive canvas of beats; an audacious bassline emphasises the urgency of the lyrical message, in defiance of the loping BPM.The digital single package includes a new remix from fellow LA talent Captain Supernova. “Off The Course (Captain Supernova Chariot Mix)”, brings a pitch-shifted, retro space-age delicacy befitting of this mysterious self-styled ‘Astronaut and Multi–Instrumentalist’ who – legend has it – was the “mission commander on a top secret US government mission in 1979 to interact with extraterrestrial life using synthesizers in outer space”.
The remix comes packaged with the single and a handful of tour dates, which will take Lost Midas' live act to stages across the U.S. and Europe throughout the month of October.
