Stephen Paddock, the white terrorist who opened fire at a country music festival in Las Vegas that left 58 dead and over 515 injured, reportedly booked two hotel rooms overlooking Grant Park where Lollapalooza takes places.

In a report from TMZ, Paddock booked a room for August 1 at the Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, as well as a second room at the same hotel on August 3, with both rooms having an August 6 checkout date, which was the same date as Lollapalooza's final day. Paddock reportedly "specifically requested" that both rooms overlook the music festival's main stage at Grant Park. However, Paddock never checked into the rooms.

Paddock had also reportedly rented a luxury room through Airbnb overlooking the Life Is Beautiful music festival, another Las Vegas music festival that occurred before the Route 91 Harvest music festival, the one he ultimately ended up attacking.

Paddock's attack on the Route 91 music festival is being called the worst mass shooting in modern American history.

The shooting took place while country artist Jason Aldean was performing onstage.

"We heard what sounded like firecrackers going off. Then all of a sudden we heard what sounded like a machine gun. People started screaming that they were hit…When we started running out there were probably a couple hundred [people] on the ground," witness Meghan Kearney said.

"People kept dropping and dropping…People were getting shot one foot away from us," Kearney added. "People were trying to save their friends. There were gunshots everywhere. Helping them would've meant that we got shot, too."
