Killer Mike was injured this past week at SXSW when an unidentified man attempted to attack Run The Jewels during a show at the Spotify House. The man was removed from the venue by security. After the incident on March 16th, Killer Mike flew back to Atlanta to see his doctor, who diagnosed him with a torn rotator cuff and advised that he leave the tour. According to a tweet from promoter Matt Sonzala, the attacker was not arrested:
Relating the events immediately following the attack in discussion with Buzzfeed Music, Sonzala noted that the man "claimed Run the Jewels owed him money and stole his lyrics". Run The Jewels returned to Stubbs yesterday for a makeup set. Before playing the ever-popular "Banana Clipper", the pair issued a warning to the crowd:
"Last time we did this song, it was interrupted. Let's not let that happen again." Killer Mike added: "If you interrupt this song, we'll beat the fuck out of you."
