Erykah Badu Does It Again, Remixes Kanye West's "Real Friends" With Whodini In Mind

Erykah Badu Dissects The Digital Age, Talks Twitter Etiquette & New Mixtape On 'The Questions'

If the last year has proven anything, it's that Erykah Badu can move and shake with times like any young gun in the game. Case in point: a freshly released remix of Kanye West's return-to-form loosie, "Real Friends" fashioned after Whodini's 1984 classic, "Friends." The track comes as a quick follow-up to her brilliantly eclectic BEATS BEES LIKE FOR B-BOYS AND B-GIRLS, which was released just last week, adding yet another brilliant rework to an already deep catalogue.

After all, it was a spur-of-the-moment remake of Drake's "Hotline Bling" that sparked her latest album/mixtape, But You Cain't Use My Phone. And so, with the arrival of the aptly-named "TRILL FRIENDS," we could very well have the beginnings of yet another new project, though it's hard to tell if she's jesting or hinting at something new with her "from the forth coming mix tape "THIS $h!t TOO EASY"claim. But you know we'll be keeping an extra-watchful eye on the matter. Hear what Erykah Badu cooked up with Kanye West's "Real Friends" and Whodini in mind. Jump back to our recent interview with Lordess Badubotron to see and hear just how she spins her analog magic in the digital age.
