Kamala Harris Cancels Campaign Travel After Two People Near Her Test Positive For COVID-19

Kamala Harris will resume traveling on Monday.

Kamala Harris is postponing in-person campaign events after two people a part of her campaign tested positive for Covid-19.

In a report from the New York Times, Liz Allen, Harris’ communications director, and a non-staff flight crew member tested positive for the coronavirus. However, Harris tested negative for the virus on Wednesday.

“Senator Harris was not in close contact, as defined by the C.D.C., with either of these individuals during the two days prior to their positive tests; as such, there is no requirement for quarantine,” Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, Joe Biden’s campaign manager, said in a statement. “Regardless, out of an abundance of caution and in line with our campaign’s commitment to the highest levels of precaution, we are canceling Senator Harris’s travel through Sunday.”

Harris instead will do virtual campaign activities. she will resume in-person campaigning on Monday. In related news, Mopreme Shakur, step-brother of the late Tupac, called out the Trump campaign’s attempt at trolling Kamala Harris during the VP debate. The campaign left tickets for Tupac Shakur, a move that was meant to poke fun at Harris, who recently called Shakur the best rapper alive.

The Shakur family considered it “clearly disrespectful” when the campaign left a seat for the deceased rapper at the debate. “We should know Trump’s lack of respect for the Black and brown community,” Mopreme told TMZ, insisting the White House instead commute the sentence of Tupac’s stepfather, Mutulu, if they had any intention of actually making it up to the Shakur family.
