OKP Premiere : Jessie Ware Breathes New Life Into “Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe” Live In Session

Jessie Ware lived out every guitar junkie’s fantasy as she posted up in a cleared-out showcase room to perform her airy ballad “Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe” off the recently released and critically adored Tough Love LP. While the groove’s co-writer Miguel wasn’t in attendance, the affair began with a quick line of questioning on the creation of the album, during which Ware gushed over the star-power of her creative companion, glowing with admiration for the confidence he instilled within her during the writing of the song.

Then the camera refocuses on Ware as she takes to the mic with nothing but a lone guitarist and a key player in tow, providing a properly bare accompaniment to a track that once boomed with 8-bit touches and a waltzing swagger, turning down the dial a bit to let her whispery squall soar over a minimal sonic backdrop. This one’s not for the faint of heart, as it will steal the wind right out of you. If you’ve yet to experience the moody musical brilliance of Ware’s seismic sophomore record Tough Love, we suggest you get with it and quick. It’s a virtual shoe-in for superlatives and the perfect score to your night-time-is-the-right-time moments. Watch Jessie Ware & Co woo in a lovely, stripped-down arrangement of “Kind Of…Sometimes…Maybe” for GC’s At Guitar Center series below and grab a copy of Tough Love on iTunes today. Head over to At Guitar Center for the full interview.
