OKP Premiere: jessica Care moore & Talib Kweli Deliver The Triumphant New Single "Catch Me If You Can"
Poet/acitivist/all-out-renaissance woman, jessica Care moore has anchored her life's mission in providing a voice for the voiceless, slinging syllables as a spoken-word artist, writer, MC, actress and publisher over the years. This Friday, however, will mark her debut as a recording artist, releasing Black Tea: The Legend Of Jessi James via Javotti Media, recruiting legends, seasoned and spry, for her introductory piece. Today we have the pleasure of bringing you a joyful and empowering new cut from the album in a Brooklyn-set clip (directed by the incomparable RA The Rugged Man) for the triumphant new single "Catch Me If You Can," bearing production from OKP-favorites Brady Watt and Decap. The track finds Moore and label chief Talib Kweli taking turns on the mic, sharing words of brimming positivity as they navigate their way through a number that'll have your hands clapping and your feet stomping in no time at all with its acoustic guitar trills and hard-thumping bass line. Black Tea: The Legend Of Jessi James is available to preorder today via Kweli Club, but you can get acquainted with jessica Care moore's delightfully dope new video "Catch Me If You Can" below. You can also feel the vibe in-the-flesh this Thursday at Gin Fizz in Harlem at 7:00pm or join her at Subrosa's the following night for the NYC leg of her Black Tea release party, with stops at The Middle East in Cambridge, MA Saturday night and the Motor City installment of her release party on October 8th at Detroit's Jazz Cafe.
