Jesse Boykins III Looks For Some Feedback w/ His New Vid "Tell Me" f/ Theophilus London

Jesse Boykins III

Soul crooner, Jesse Boykins III, reaches back to his 2014 LP, Love Apparatus, for his latest video. Jesse goes with the Theophilus London featured and Machinedrum produced cut, “Tell Me,” for his latest visual. The black and white video features Jesse and a cast of lovely, but silenced, women being stripped of the tape that is keeping them quiet. Video directed by Yoji Moniz. Check below for the video, as well as a more in-depth explanation of it from Jesse. Love Apparatus is out now.

Basically, the song 'Tell Me' and the expression of the song is a man asking for a women to be open with him. I feel like if you think about the history of women in a lot of cultures, they weren’t allowed to say a lot of the things they wanted to say. A small thing like being able to vote wasn’t allowed for a while. Like, There are a lot of rights that weren’t given to them so the video is symbolic of me asking them to take the tape off their mouths and say whatever you want to say. It doesn’t matter what it is. It’s not my duty to take what is said it personal. It’s my duty to learn from it.
