‘On The Count of Three’: Jerrod Carmichael’s Directorial Debut Has Begun Filming

Tiffany Haddish, Christopher Abbott, and J.B. Smoove will star alongside Carmichael in the forthcoming dark comedy.

Jerrod Carmichael is set to make his directorial debut with On The Count of Three. Coined a darkly comedy thriller, the film will also star Carmichael alongside Tiffany Haddish, Christopher Abbott, Henry Winkler, J.B. Smoove and Lavell Crawford.

According to a Deadline report, though details of the movie haven’t been made public, filming has already begun in Ottawa. Carmichael will produce alongside Jimmy Price, Tom Werner of Werner Entertainment and Jake Densen in addition to Valparaiso’s Adam Paulsen and David Carrico. Christopher Storer is set to be executive producer and the film will be written by Ramy co-creators Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch.

Comedian Carmichael is most known for his semi-autobiographical NBC comedy The Carmichael Show which he co-created and starred in. His recent roles include the Neighbors movie series, Transformers: The Last Knight and Ferdinand. Haddish has recently appeared in the wildly successful movie Girls Trip in addition to Night School and Nobody’s Fool.
