James Blake Returns To BBC Radio 1 w/ Potent R&B Mix feat. Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Rick James + More
It's always a great day in the morning when James Blake steps behind the wheels of steel for one of his left-leaning DJ sets. And while it's been months since he last took to BBC Radio 1, his latest mix proves precisely why that is the case. Last night, while many of you were tucked away, Blake returned to the British airwaves with a potent r&b mix featuring cuts from the likes of Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Rick James, Kanye West, Ray Charles and damn-near every soul music luminary under the sun, dicing, splicing, cutting and gutting the tracks with his own pristine mixing magic, even sprinkling in a few ultra-rare cuts of his own for the devout Blake-ite to lap up with cheerful glee. It was the perfect way to send-off his fellow resident DJ, Kaytranada as he concluded his own run on BBC last night after an extended stay. Hit the link below to hear James Blake's latest BBC Radio 1 residency mix and whole tight for the next episode, though we never really know when it'll pop up.
