While past offerings like last week's clip for "Blue Ocean" seemed so stream-of-conscience that it bordered on mindlessness, this week's drop feels a bit more mature, more calculated and finds him weaving a beach-clad narrative over an on-point chop of Lamont Dozier's breezy 73' cut "Trying To Hold On To My Woman" (see Consequence's "Pretty Little Sexy Mama" for reference.)
I know, I know; everyone's sick of hearing about the heir to Bel Air's various entertainment industry exploits. That may be the case, but it doesn't appear that he'll be letting up anytime soon, so we might as well get acquainted with whatever it is he's cooking up just to have a point of reference when we're either looking back at a career's worth of hits or shaming the Smiths for not doing any quality control and saving all the goods for lil sis.
