Twelve of Isaac Hayes' most iconic albums have been remastered entirely from their original analog tapes, and reissued on iTunes.

During his time on Stax Records Hayes would go on to record 12 albums for the record label, and not those albums have gotten a digital release.

The works span from 1969 to 1976, and include albums such as Hot Buttered Soul; The Issac Hayes Movement; Black Moses; and his legendary Shaft soundtrack.

Dave Cooley was responsible for recreating the analog tapes' sound for the digital edition of each album.

"Every effort was undertaken to retain both the original production team's intent, and the most natural and truthful spatial imaging of Isaac's voice and instrumentation," Cooley said in a statement. "For the first time you can plainly hear details as small as the subtle coloration variations between the original studio setups and tape formulations from album to album. There's renewed resolution around instruments. But you can also dive into the zoned-out atmospherics, and listen comfortably for hours as an entire body of work."

Along with the recently released digital albums, comes the announcement of a 2017 reissue Hayes' catalog on 180-gram vinyl, as well as a retrospective box set. More details for both releases will come some time in early 2017.

Titled "Do Your Thing," the track is taken from the Shaft soundtrack and is made up of 33 minutes of soul that was mixed and remastered from 2-inch tapes.
