Ice Cube is a recently converted family man, folks. Let that be understood from the get, that your boy’s been toning things down for some time now, with carefully plotted (and hilarious) one-off outbursts of gangsta in 21 Jump Street just to remind you that the G in OG doesn’t stand for G-rated. But these days, Cube is for the kids. So when he pops up on a wholesome segment of Sesame Street, it’s all love, mostly because there’s nearly two decade’s worth of seismic ish to hold down any concerns.
Recently, he did just that, standing shoulder-shoulder with the little furry titan of children’s entertainment AKA Elmo to tap into some of his vocabulary excellence. Our Sesame Street Batman & Robin broke down the term “astound” for the little minds. No doubt an effort to help blossom the little Cubes of the future. It marks yet another A-list team-up with one of our favorite Okayplayers on the foundational kid’s program, following Janelle Monae‘s takeover this past summer and that time The Muppets AND The Sesame Street cast joined The Roots in studio 6B for a proper rework of that iconic theme song. So without further adieu, watch Ice Cube and Elmo teach the kiddies how to use the work “astound” on Sesame Street below.
