Mac Miller Died From a Mixture of Fentanyl & Cocaine According to Autopsy

RIP Mac Miller.

The L.A. County Coroner's Office has released the toxicology report for rapper Mac Miller, who died in September at the age of 26.

According to the report, a combination of Fentanyl, cocaine,and alcohol was found in Millers system and said to be the causeof the rappers death.

Fentanyl, an opioid 30 times more powerful than heroin, has killed a numberof artists over the last couple of years. Most notably, legends like Prince andTom Petty, as well as up-and-coming stars like Lil Peep.

In other news, on Friday the Food and Drug Administration approved a new opioid called Dsuvia that is five to 10 times more powerful than fentanyl. The drug is being marketed as one that soldiers will use on the battlefield.

FDA Commissioner Scott Gottleib said in a statement:

The military application for this new medicine was carefully considered in this case...There are very tight restrictions being placed on the distribution and use of this product.

Almost half of all overdoses in the United States are due to Fentanyl.
