Christmas Eve was a joyous time of 2015, as hip-hop was already anticipating hot new releases from the likes of Timbaland, Busta Rhymes and Tory Lanez. Before those heat-rocks were dropped, New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut were treated to an exclusive throw-down by three of the Tri-State area’s most renowned DJs in the form of Chuck Chillout, Funkmaster Flex and Kool DJ Red Alert.

Together, these three legends of the wheels of steel spun three hours worth of records which defined true school hip-hop and the definitive era of the culture. Other hip-hop deities such as UTFO, Whodini, T La Rock and Rakim were played at hot octane levels, as the crew shared personal commentary and flashbacks on the era that was.

In addition to the ad-libs, hip-hop heads were treated to a buffet of break-beats by Spoonie Gee and a sincere dedication to the late, great Larry Smith.

The three icons of hip-hop hit deep the pocket of 1988-1994, where they were the top gawds of the genre together. And thankfully, for those outside the Tri-State area, the internet has captured this historical moment and uploaded it for your listening pleasure.
