Help Bring This Towering Three-Story David Bowie Memorial To Life
In January we passed the one-year mile marker since the death of David Bowie. Tributes to the icon of have come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from all-star salutes at Carnegie Hall to a grip of posthumous releases seeking to illuminate the still expansive set of recordings and footage that has yet to meet eyes and ears. But a group of fans in the UK have schemes for a memorial that strives to stand as tall as Bowie’s imprint on the arts.
The campaign is seeking £990,000 (or $1,233,342 USD) by March 21st to erect a three-story Aladdin Sane thunderbolt statue just steps away from Bowie’s birthplace in the Brixton neighborhood of London. For a sense of scale, scroll down to peep that towering mock-up. Hit the link below to peep the campaign video and make your donation. Safe to say this might just be the most fitting tribute to the late David Bowie we could possible think of. Glad someone did.
