BADBADNOTGOOD Let The Jazz Chops Fly On Two Heady New Loosies

It feels like it’s been ages since we caught up with north-of-the-border jazz-punks, BADBADNOTGOOD. Following their brilliantly cerebral suite for Ghostface Killah on the Sour Soul collaboration, the trio has been suspiciously quiet, only showing their chops on Kali Uchis‘ Por Vida EP in the latter half of 2015. But one should never peg silence for stagnancy when it comes to these eccentric players.

Yesterday BBNG dropped off a few surprise loosies, proving that very notion with a pair of left-leaning instrumental compositions. “Timewave Zero” is a a full-sprint psychedelic jazz & rock romp built over a dizzying shuffle and lurking, murky organs. “Here And Now” ramps up the reverie with a sampledelic treatment that could double as a lost Sun-Ra outing with a more straightforward groove. Each of these treats is available for you to hear down below. Put your feet up along with an L and take a long hard drag with BADBADNOTGOOD down below. For those looking to feel the vibe live and direct, their only date currently scheduled comes at the cusp of the new year with a performance at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL on December 30th. Hit their Soundcloud for more goodies.
