GZA & Tom Morello x The Roots "The Mexican" Live On The Tonight Show

This was a pretty awesome hip-hop moment right here. Growing up a Wu-Tang stan, just the idea of GZA doing a solo performance on late night television in it of itself is amazing, but the genius takes things a step further. GZA is joined by Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello (shredding like no other and dropping in a wild sound effects "solo", as you’d expect) for this killer performance of their new collabo track, “The Mexican” (with Kara Lane from k.i.d on the hook) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "The Mexican," of course, is a cover of the 1972 Babe Ruth track of the same name--one that has gone on to be sampled many times by hip-hop artists. The Roots supply the sounds, GZA brings the bars, and Crazy Legs and ABgirl come through at the end with a brief yet very dope performance to keep things all the way hip-hop - definitely a must watch. GZA’s long awaited new LP, Dark Matter, is coming soon.
