According to CNN affiliate WKMG, Zimmerman is accused of repeatedly threatening and harassing Dennis Warren between December 16 and December 25 of last year. Warren is a private investigator who was hired by a production company, The Cinemart, that was working on a documentary about Martin’s life. The documentary is Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, which is executive-produced by Jay-Z.

In a report from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Warren had initially reached out to Zimmerman on September 21, explaining in a voicemail that a producer wanted to speak with him for the documentary. Following that, one of the producers contacted Warren to let him know Zimmerman had threatened the two after they tried to solicit Zimmerman’s family members to be involved in the film.

“Dennis is a (expletive) who bothered my uncle in his home. Local or former law officer, he’s well on his way to the inside of a gator as well. 10-4?” Zimmerman texted the producer, according to the report.

After that, Zimmerman began to harass Warren; within a two-hour period on December 16, he received 21 phone calls, 38 text messages, and seven voicemails from Zimmerman.

Zimmerman also reportedly forwarded a 2012 interview he did to Warren, where the former is quoted as saying “I know how to handle people who (expletive) with me, I have since February of 2012,” and “Anyone who (expletives) with my parents will be fed to an alligator.”

He is now scheduled to appear in court on a stalking charge on May 30.

In other related news, a man who shot at Zimmerman in 2015 was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison. Matthew Apperson was found guilty of second-degree attempted murder for the shooting, which occurred while the two were driving in separate vehicles, according to a report from NPR. Apperson claimed that he was acting in self-defense and that Zimmerman has pointed a gun at him, a claim Zimmerman denied.
