A few weeks back, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader took to Late Night With Seth Meyers to preview their Talking Heads parody band Test Pattern. It was spot on side-splitting, with Armisen’s mastery of the David Byrne yelp front and center, but it served as a glimpse at an episode that flips Jonathan Demme‘s classic Stop Making Sense on its ear for their IFC show, Documentary Now.
That episode ran last night and is highly recommended for any and all mock doc fans out there. Kinda like a Spinal Tap-ed version of Demme’s masterpiece. But what’s more, Hader and Armisen’s Test Pattern has released and entire album inspired of tracks that can be heard through out last night’s episode and available to hear for free down below. Armisen and Hader’s Documentary Now airs every Wednesday night at 10pm.
Demme, on the other hand, is at the helm of Justin Timberlake‘s new live concert special on Netflix, aptly dubbed Justin Timberlake & The Tennessee Kids, which is also available to stream at your earliest convenience, and is dedicated to the memory and influence of the late legend, Prince.
