Flying Lotus Shares Behind-The-Scenes Details On Kendick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly'

Just as the world was reveling in the surprise release of Kendrick Lamar's long-awaited To Pimp A Butterfly LP, producer/composer genius Flying Lotus took to Twitter and shared a number of tantalizing secrets about the album's creation.

After Lotus and Kendrick Lamar connected on 2014's You're Dead! single "Never Catch Me," small disparate details of the two's continuing musical partnership began to emerge. But only now have we learned just how deep those ties go.

During last night's online sound-off, Flying Lotus To Pimp A Butterfly and his involvement in the album's creation, as well as the producer's ever-growing creative partnership with Kendrick Lamar. A second, non-album version of TPAB's "For Sale" was made by FlyLo, but did not make album's final cut (and the producer doesn't even have a copy of if). The two reportedly connected during Lamar's stint on Kanye West's Yeezus tour and have only been running from there. Flying Lotus had nothing but praise for Lamar's process and dedication to his craft.
