Flying Lotus is about his grind! There is no telling when this man is going to stop producing/mixing/messing with music, but no one is complaining. Obviously, no one wants good music to stop. My concern is, Why does all the good stuff have to go through/come from the UK? (Okay, maybe not all -- but still...Can we get Okayplayer on the radio?!)

BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac recently asked FlyLo for a bedtime mix or "tunes associated with late night." What he curated is a magical sonic dreamscape that lasts for about twenty minutes (literally a perfect nap time mix): you'll fall asleep to Björk, dream in Aphex Twin and Vangelis, and wake to Miles Davis' "Lonely Fire." After playing the compilation Flying Lotus stuck around to talk through the mix. He said,"When I was in high school, I just had the most horrible time tryin' to find my way, because I really appreciated things that weren't so popular among kids... [The songs in the mix] were the kinds of things I was trying to listen to before I went to sleep, to clear my head and put me in a hypnotic space." He also revealed that a lot of the music included in this and his other mixes he found by watching films. "Lonely Fire," for example, he heard in "Finding Forester." To listen to the "Bedtime Mix" hit the link below and fast forward to the 1:21:40 mark. Then put your head down, and enjoy.
