Okayplayers, you remember the name, Khalid, don’t cha? Of course you do.

The talented 18-year-old singer-songwriter has been on the lips of every music journo, publication, tastemaker and influencer in the game. Thanks to his songs, “Location” + “Saved,” the phone hasn’t stopped ringing off the hook for the El Paso, Texas original.

Today, he is making another step towards stardom, as Khalid released the music video for his latest track, “Shot Down,” which is off of his debut album, American Teen. Chronicling the ups-and-downs of young love, Khalid rides a bus across town as he serves as the soundtrack for a group of skaters and venturesome teens.

Speaking to The FADER via email, Khalid shared just how personal this project was to him, saying, “I really feel as if moments like this video are only the beginning of what’s yet to come.” Hey, we couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.
