Pass The Popcorn: Legendary Composer Ennio Morricone Set To Score Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight'

Quentin Tarantino & Ennio Morricone are set to rekindle their creative connection this coming holiday season as the legendary composer has signed on to provide the score to Tarantino's anxiously-awaited film The Hateful Eight. And while this is certainly a meeting of the finest minds in sound and sight, it will be a continuation of the groundwork they laid on Django Unchained, which featured an original composition from Morricone, and Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2, which borrowed a few. However, The Hateful Eight will mark his first full score for the modern film giant, who is surely elated and has been looking to work intimately with the spaghetti western hero since his own debut. The Hateful Eight has only had a brief (leaked) teaser to provide us with a glimpse of the film, but what we do know is that it will be Tarantino's first outing in super-wide frame 70mm film (perhaps best known in Ben-Hur) and that Kurt RussellTim Roth, Channing Tatum and Michael Madsen are all onboard for the film, which hits 70mm theaters on Christmas Day this year with a nationwide release scheduled for January 8th, 2016. Watch the trailer below and get ready for what is already shaping up to be one of the year's most compelling cinematic experiences.
