The homie DJ Ayres ( of The Rub fame) has teamed up with singer Tatiana Owens to produce an EDM/2step/soulful house/UK garage track aptly titled "Beautiful People," which just hit the iTunes. Even more importantly--for all you DJs, beatheads, electronic music producers and aspiring remixers--Ayres teamed up with our very own EDM channel Okayfuture and the good people at Legitmix to bring you a chance to get your official remix on via this remix contest. OKF has the story:
Singer Tatiana Owens and producer DJ Ayres released “Beautiful People” last month, a cover of Barbara Tucker’s 1994 classic house anthem, updated with a UK Garage swagger, a big ol’ bassline and Tatiana’s soaring diva vocals. Now you can add your own beautiful touch to “Beautiful People” by remixing the track using any sample, any style, any way you want! The winner will receive $250 plus the opportunity to be on an official release coming out via DJ Ayres & Tittsworth’s T&A Records.The competition is made possible by Legitmix, technology that helps remixers and the artists they sample get credited and paid. To Enter:
1) Go to www.mediafire.com/?c58akubbv8svr13 and download the acapella and stems.
2) Make a remix using any sample that can be found in iTunes. You MUST use a sample and be willing to identify it.
3) Submit your track to the “Beautiful People” Legitmix page: https://lgt.mx/@m
4) Add a photo, bio and social links to your Legitmix profile.
