Drake Confirms Release Date of Highly Anticipated Album ‘Certified Lover Boy’

On Monday, the rapper confirmed the release date of Certified Lover Boy and also shared the album's cover art.

Drake has officially confirmed the release date for his next album Certified Lover Boy.

The album will arrive on Friday, September 3. That's not all, he also unveiled strange cover art featuring an assortment of emojis featuring pregnant women in a variety of different skin tones, there are 12. Shortly after the rapper shared the cover art, Rap Radar's Elliott Wilson confirmed this was the actual album cover.

On Friday, the rapper interrupted ESPN’s SportsCenter with a strangely cryptic commercial. In what appeared to look like a hack, the ad featured a piece of cardboard with the following message written: “CLB September 3.” This obviously refers to the album Certified Lover Boy

If you haven’t been keeping tabs on his latest public appearances where he’s mentioned the album, we’re here to do that for you. Most recently he confirmed the album via a Sirius XM radio show by sharing, “Album’s cooked. Looking forward to delivering it to you.” He added, “I hope everybody in the world is blessed. I hope everybody has their drinks, everyone’s locked in. Good vibes and good energy for this weekend. Certified Lover Boy on the way, and that’s for anyone in the way.”

There’s also been some murmurs about a rekindled beef between Kanye West and Drake that we think are worth mentioning. On a track titled “Betrayal” on Trippie Red’s new album, Drake apparently threw jabs at West when he shared:

“All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know / Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go / Ye ain’t changin’ sh*t for me, it’s set in stone.”

After the album was unveiled, ‘Ye also previously posted a screenshot of a text thread between him, Pusha T and possibly Drake. Of course, the screenshot was removed from his page, but in it he posted an image of the Joker played by Joaquin Phoenix. Alongside that image, he wrote: “I live for this. I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock niggas like you my whole life. You will never recover I promise you.”

Additionally, Kanye allegedly shared Drake’s Toronto address and then deleted it. There’s clearly tension between the two artists.
