All we can say is...it took long enough.

Washington DC icon Donnie Simpson has had a long distinguished career in radio. One that has lasted over 30 years. And now the icon is getting recognized for his work.

Simpson has been nominated for the radio hall of fame. Robert Alexander, CEO of 360WISE, posted the news on his Twitter account:

For decades Simpson has been a kingpin on radio. He started his career at 15, working for WJLB in Detroit.

In 1988, he started The Donnie Simpson Morning Show, which would go on for more than 20 years. Simpson ended the show in 2010 and retired from radio.  Two years later On August 17, 2015, Simpson came out of retirement and returned to the radio airwaves, this time on WMMJ where he currently hosts The Donnie Simpson Show.

Like we said before, radio hall of fame...it took long enough?
