DJ Yella Hints At Possibility Of A NWA Reunion Tour

During the second weekend of this year's Coachella Ice Cubekept his promise and had an N.W.A. reunion that featured himself, MC Ren, DJ Yella and Dr. Dre (with Eazy E's song Young E hopping onstage to perform a snippet of "Boyz in the Hood").

But no N.W.A. tours came after that, with the long rumored Straight Outta Compton reunion tour that would've featured rap heavyweight Eminem filling in for the late Eazy E, never coming to fruition.

Now, however, DJ Yella has hinted at a N.W.A. reunion tour in a new interview with the online music channel Wavvy Music. at the 2:39 mark in the video host Konz asks Yella if the possibility of a tour with Eminem and Snoop Dogg might still happen, with the latter responding "You never know what is coming next year…You never know!"

The answer is cryptic and it's possible that we might be getting our hopes up for nothing, but maybe we'll actually get that N.W.A. tour next year. The tour was originally supposed to happen back in 2015, when a story from The Hollywood Reporter stated that the group was trying to get together for an European tour to promote the biopic.

"We don't have anything settled yet with everyone's schedules," Donna Langley, Universal Pictures chair, said in the report. "But we think it can create a lot of buzz."

Shortly after that news was released a representative for Ice Cube and Eminem disputed the report, telling Rolling Stone that the pair have no plans to tour together either solo or with N.W.A.

This year the iconic West Coast rap collective was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Kendrick Lamar. They were expected to perform during the event, but ultimately backed out.

"I guess we really didn't feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on," Ice Cube said in an interview with The New York Times. "We wanted to do it on a whole other level, and that just couldn't happen."
