Protests and rallies are going on around the country to contestPresident DonaldTrump's immigration ban, and Dave Chappelle has contributed his voice.

Chappelle spoke at a rally in front of the federal court building in Dayton, Ohio. As Complex points out, he converted to Islam - and with Trump's executive order focused on predominantly-Muslim countries, the comedian had something to say.

"We are all here because what you [Trump] are doing does not seem right. As a matter of fact, it sucks," Chappelle told the crowd. "I support refugees, I support immigrants, and I love my friends and neighbors. Thank you."

In a 2005interview with TIME, Chappelle said that even though he rarely speaks about his religious beliefs,that he believes Islam is a "beautiful religion."

"I don't normally talk about my religion publicly because I don't want people to associate me and my flaws with this beautiful thing. And I believe it is a beautiful religion if you learn it the right way," Chappelle said. "It's a lifelong effort. Your religion is your standard. Coming here I don't have the distractions of fame. It quiets the ego down. I'm interested in the kind of person I've got to become. I want to be well rounded and the industry is a place of extremes. I want to be well balanced. I've got to check my intentions, man."

Trump signed an executive order on Friday that restricts immigration from seven Muslim countries, suspends all refugee admission for 120 days, and prohibits all Syrian refugees indefinitely.

As a result of the ban, multiple immigrants and refugees - including an Iraqi translator for the U.S. Army, an Iranian scientist, and a Syrian refugee - were all detained at airports around the country. Demonstrators organized protests at the airports, and in front of federal court buildings, like the onethat Chappelle spoke in front of on Sunday. Celebrities and politicianshave also spoken up.

A federal judge granted a temporary stay for the travelers who were detained by the order, prohibiting them from being immediately deported until a future ruling.
