Yang shared an image of himself and Chappelle on Twitter with the following caption: “Thank you @DaveChappelle and welcome to the #yanggang. You are the best. Let’s do this for our kids.”
Chappelle is set to perform two shows in South Carolina for Yang later this month. The presidential candidate shared in a recent interview how he had been speaking with the comedian about his campaign.
“Dave’s team reached out to our team, and they were thrilled to put the two of us together,” Yang told New England Cable News. “We sat down and talked about his concerns for the country and what we need to do to for the next generation. Dave’s a dad like I am. And then after we met, he said, ‘Look, I want to help, and what can I do to help?’”
Prior to Chappelle, Donald Glover endorsed Yang.
The artist took to Instagram back in December to show his support for Yang via his Instagram Stories. Glover is also acting as a creative consultant for Yang, having created #YangGang merch for the presidential hopeful.
In related news, Chappelle explained during a recent stand-up comedy show how he wouldn’t bring back Chappelle’s Show to Netflix, even if the streaming service offered him enough money for it.
