Dame Dash Is Facing a $7 Million Defamation Lawsuit

Dame Dash is being sued for $7 million over social media comments.

According to a report in The Blast, director Josh Webber sued Dash after he allegedly lost money due to the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder’s defamatory online comments. They are both involved in an ongoing legal battle over Dear Frank, a movie the two worked on together.

Webber claims that Dash’s actions and comments have resulted in a $6 million investment loss on one project, which court documents say “specifically references the actions of Dash as the reason the contract was terminated.” He also allegedly lost a separate gig that would've paid. $275,000.

The director is seeking an additional $565,000 — a reported dollar for every one of Dash’s Instagram followers and YouTube subscribers. According to The Blast, the lawsuit is demanding Dash pay $6.84 million to Webber and $565,000 to Muddy Water Pictures.

Dash, who had been co-directing alongside Webber, had been removed from the film in 2018 for allegedly being high on set and misbehaving. Earlier this year, Webber took the music mogul to court because Dash began marketing Dear Frank as his own movie despite no longer being a part of the project.
