On May 27th, Dam-Funk, leader of the modern funk movement, will release his very own contribution to the acclaimed DJ Kicks mix series, flaunting an hour and twenty minutes of the Pasadena, CA native’s supreme selections, no doubt grabbed from his own heroic collection. That mix is slated to include an original composition from Dam, exclusive to the mix. Today, he’s pulled the covers off that 7-minute synth and drum machine jam, “Believer,” giving the whole world a taste of new funk weeks before the mix is officially released. You can stream Dam-Funk’s “Believer” down below. Two of the album’s rarest selections, Index’s “Starlight (The Break)” and Vertical Lines’ “Theme From Beach Boy” will be made available exclusively via 10″ vinyl pressing, which you can pick up today via K7’s online shop.
