Speaking with Vlad TV, Anthony "Geezy" Gonzalez said that "95 percent" of Clipse's lyrics about drug dealing from Lord Willin' was based on his own experiences as a drug dealer.

"They never had to ask me about no idea off of what they have seen," Gonzalez said before recounting a time Pusha T used a remark Gonzalez said in a rap he was working on.

"I remember it was a couple of times — it was a rap back in the day, me and him were sitting there talking and I said to him, 'For every car I got add nine O's,'" he said. "I said that and he looked at me but he ain't say nothing. Then I heard him say it in a rhyme, 'For every car I got add nine O's.' When I heard it, I was like, 'Man, I said that to him.' He was good when it came to that type of stuff. But I never said, 'Hey, you should say this, you should say that.' I didn't have to, because they saw what was going on."

In 2010, Gonzalez was sentenced to 32 years in prison after admittting he was the leader of a $20 million drug ring. (He doesn't discuss his release in any of the interviews Vlad has uploaded with him. Pusha spoke on Gonzalez's incarceration during a 2011 interview with Complex, saying that his imprisonment, as well as the incarceration of some of his friends, forced him to "make the most of music."

"I don't want their incarceration to be in vain. Now, there's no way I could even speak to them like, 'I'm home' — they're like, 'You're home? And I'm here for the next tons of years? Come on, get it going.' We owe our family and friends the opportunity to see something better materialize because everything with us went bad,' he said.

Last year, Clipse reunited on the Kanye West album Jesus is King. The duo will perform at Pharrell's Something in the Water music festival this year.
