Last week, during a visit to Chicago’s Windy City Live, Chance The Rapper made it known that he had some big plans for the Pitchfork Fest, which took place this weekend in his hometown with a massive roster of A-listers on deck. And now that we’ve finally secured some video from his performance, we know that the surprise he had in store for us was an appearance from Kirk Franklin, a modern gospel giant who Chance has revealed much reverence for over the years, joining him, Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment on stage for a blissful performance of their lead-off single “Sunday Candy.” The performance marked another dream-come-true type scenario for the rapper they call Chance, who has confirmed forthcoming collaborative project with both Kanye West and Lil B, respectively, and nabbed guest spots for his critically-adored Surf LP from Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, Janelle Monaé and plenty of other living legends in the game. You can watch Chance The Rapper & Kirk Franklin deliver what may be the best piece of “Sunday Candy” yet down below, just be sure to grab your copy of Surf on iTunes today if you’ve yet to do so.
