Wasn't too long ago that you'd get looks for mentioning Chance The Rapper and Kanye West in the same breath. Now the two are seemingly inseparable when discussing Chicago's rich output and its lineage within hip-hop or even music at large.

Over the last year, the two have become that much closer, as artists, as friends, gracing one another's respective albums (both easily amongst the year's best offerings) and vocally praising each other for the influence. So yeah, we all should have seen this one coming. Today a pair of producers, DJ Clyde and DJ Critical Hype, have brought the two together like no one before, releasing Chance The Dropout; a mash-up project that places Chano's vocals over classic Kanye productions, as both an homage to the Windy City giants and a placeholder for what will presumably be a future filled with Chance and Kanye (ultralight) beam-crossings. That is, after they're done squaring up for a grip of 2017 Grammy noms.
