‘The Harder They Fall’ Features A Moment Honoring Chadwick Boseman

Netflix’s star-studded film The Harder They Fall by Jeymes Samuel has a distinct moment that discretely pays tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman.

The Harder They Fall has been gaining traction during its release week. The new Western-themed Netflix film’s cast is stacked with heavy hitters including Regina King, Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield, and Jonathan Majors to name a few.

There’s one person who has received a special tribute that’s hidden as an easter egg. Over on Twitter, Netflix’s official account shared that a red train titled “C.A. Boseman” is named for the late actor Chadwick Boseman. The train appeared during a scene featuring King and Stanfield walking past as Elba is transported on a train. The tweet read, “Our favorite trivia from #TheHarderTheyFall might be the fact that the train is named after our forever king, Chadwick Aaron Boseman.”

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was the last film Chadwick Boseman appeared in following his shocking death. His battle with colon cancer wasn’t revealed until 2020, he’d been diagnosed in 2016. Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods is another film Boseman starred in prior to his death alongside Jonathan Majors, Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, and Isaiah Whitlock Jr.

Back in October, Howard University and Netflix unveiled a $5.4 million scholarship fund named after Boseman. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the fund will cover four years of tuition at the fine arts school which was renamed the Chadwick Boseman College of Fine Arts.

On the fund, Howard president Wayne A.I. Frederick said: “This scholarship embodies Chadwick’s love for Howard, his passion for storytelling and his willingness to support future generations of Howard students.”
