Celebration of Life for Takeoff To Be Held At State Farm Arena

On November 11, State Farm Arena in Atlanta will host a homecoming service for fans of Migos and Unc & Phew member Takeoff.

Takeoff will be honored in a homecoming service at State Farm Arena in Atlanta this Friday (November 11). According to Atlanta outlet WSB-TV, Pastor Jesse Curney III of New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn will deliver the eulogy. Takeoff, birth name Kirsnick Khari Ball, and his family members were attendees of the church.

The public memorial service will begin at 12 PM ET and will follow a strict no video and photo policy. Guests' devices must be checked in Yondr bags prior to entering the venue. According to TMZ, Justin Bieber will be performing at the service. Family members of Ball ask that  in lieu of flowers or gifts that donations should be made to The Rocket Foundation, an outreach that aims to save lives "through proven, community-based solutions to prevent gun violence."

Ball was shot and killed by a stray bullet during an altercation at Billiards & Bowling Houston last Tuesday (November 1). With him was his uncle and longtime collaborator Quavo, also a member of Migos and one-third of rap duo Unc & Phew. One day before the shooting, Unc & Phew released a music video for their final single "Messy" from their debut LP Only Built For Infinity Links.

Takeoff's music has found new success since his passing. On the Billboard 200 chart dated November 12, Only Built For Infinity Links sits at No. 12 while other projects from Migos has re-entered the chart. The group's sophomore album Culture is now at No. 116 while Culture is at No. 193. Takeoff’s only solo album, 2018’s The Last Rocket, has re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 189.

Tickets to Takeoff's funeral service at State Farm Arena will be available to Georgia residents beginning 2 PM ET on Tuesday on Ticketmaster.
