CeeLo Green has a reputation for some of the more eccentric, controversial images in hip-hop, but in his latest video he tones down the theatrics to focus on the bars.

The music video for "Power" sees CeeLo in boss mode, kicking back in a lavish mansion in Medellin, Colombia with cigars, jewelry, and a beautiful view. Fairly standard fare for a rap video, but CeeLo does traditional better than most - it's fun to see him flexing the type of melodic flow that helped build his career. Philly rapper Tone Trump provides a solid guest spot.

For old school CeeLo fans, "Power" may be closer to a return to form than his other recent releases as his alter-ego Gnarley Davidson. First, a viral hoax video that showed CeeLo holding a cell phone that exploded on the side of his face. Then, his head-turning, metallic gold-painted costume from the Grammy Awards. His single from this week, "Jay Z's Girl," was a little odd. But songs like "Power" and last year's "My Favorite MCs" are reminders that CeeLo can still cut bells and whistles to bring straight-up rhymes, no questions asked.
