Cardi B Becomes First Female Rapper With Two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s

Cardi B just made history, again.

Cardi B is not the first woman in rap history to have two No. 1 hits. on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The song off her debut album, Invasion of Provacy features J Balvin and Bad Bunny, landed at the top of this week’s chart and marks the two Latin stars' first Hot 100 No. 1 each.

"I Like It" knocked XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” to No. 2 after he also made chart history last week as the first solo artist since Biggie to earn a posthumous No. 1 song.

Last year, with “Bodak Yellow,” Cardi became the first solo female rapper to earn a No. 1 on the chart since Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Thanks to "Bodak Yellow" and "I Like It," Cardi B passes four female rappers who previously topped the chart with one No. 1 apiece: Lauryn Hill, with "Doo Wop (That Thing)," (1998); Lil' Kim, with "Lady Marmalade," with Christina Aguilera, Mya and P!nk (2001); Shawnna, featured on Ludacris' "Stand Up" (2003); and, Iggy Azalea, with "Fancy," featuring Charli XCX (2014).

Cardi B is the first artist to earn a pair of Hot 100 No. 1s from a debut album since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in 2013 with The Heist, and the first woman to do so since Lady Gaga The Fame in 2009.
