New Photos Reveal That One Of The Cops In Breonna Taylor Raid Wore A Body Cam

The photos contradict statements made by the Louisville Metro Police Department that said the officers involved, who work narcotics, do not wear body cameras.

New photos have surfaced showing that at least one of the officers involved in the raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor was wearing a body cam.

In a report from VICE News, crime scene photographs of the incident were taken by the Louisville Metro Police Department. Included in the photos is an image of Tony James, one of at least seven officers present during the raid, wearing a body camera. There was also another photograph taken where Myles Cosgrove, another officer, was wearing a body camera holder.

Per VICE News:

This contradicts statements by the Louisville Metro Police Department that the officers involved, who work narcotics, do not wear body cameras. The department has also said there is no body camera footage from the raid. It’s unclear, however, if the camera present was turned on during the raid.

Shortly after Taylor's death, the department's then-police chief Steve Conrad had said there was no body cam footage from the incident.

"I want to start by letting you all know that we have no body-worn video cameras to share with you from this morning’s shooting," Conrad said. "This incident was related to the execution of a search warrant by members of our Criminal Interdiction Division, and some of the officers assigned to this division do not wear body-worn video systems."

As VICE noted, the Criminal Interdiction Division includes narcotics, which police have also said don’t wear body cameras. In related news, one of the attorneys representing Taylor's family shared that local law enforcement had tried to offer Jamarcus Glover, Taylor’s boyfriend, a plea deal that listed the emergency medical technician as a part of his drug operation.
