Brenk Sinatra Cruises Easy On His New 'Midnite Ride' LP

Whether you're automatic or manual, coupe or convertible, diesel or hybrid, your new driving record has arrived. Brenk Sinatra has just released his long-time-coming Midnite Ride LP, a record styled for road trips that feature plenty of long red lights and skyline views.

Across the record, cool electric pianos and half-crooked beats form the skeleton of Sinatra's sound, and depending on the track anything from a horns to gospel vocals light the way. Midnite Ride was originally started by Brenk Sinatra as a personal project of great car tunes, but has since been expanded and been made available for all our listening pleasures.

The beatmaker describes the record as "wavy," and that's just about right; this is music for journeys on America's open blacktop seas. Pimp C gets a brief homage on "Leather & Wood," while "Dillude" does exactly what you expect it to—be proper through and through. Be sure to catch the restrained chop of "Subtra," the wooly West Coast synth lines of "Skeemin" and the tiny pause offered up on "3am Skit." Midnite Ride is an exercise in great taste and deftly-executed concept. Your next commute just got a whole lot smoother.
