Must Cop: Bob Marley's 11 Island Records LPs To Be Reissued In Zippo-Cased Box-Set
2015 would have marked reggae icon Bob Marley's 70th year and while the celebrations have been heard loudly in some cases (a blistering cover of "Burnin' And Lootin' at last year's Afropunk from D'Angelo & The Roots) and much more softly in others (a Baltimore-debuted musical) the festivities certainly won't be stopping there. A forthcoming box-set will keep the candle and/or spliff lit for the late Marley (elder to his hundreds of disciples, blood or otherwise ) furnishing his eleven Island Records LPs with a stainless steel, zippo-shaped case inspired by the original cover of Catch A Fire, which should feel right at home amongst herbal purveyors and devout reggae enthusiasts alike. The set is slated for release on September 25th alongside a velvet-clad alternative casing for the more refined bookshelf. We've yet to find a preorder link for the limited edition set, but that certainly can't be too far down the line at this point. Check back for updates in the weeks ahead.
