BlocBoy JB Sues "Fortnite" Creators Over Use of His "Shoot Dance"

The rapper is the latest public figure to take legal action against the video game company.

BlocBoy JB is suing the makers of the popular Fortnite for using an emote of his widely popular "Shoot" dance.

According to a report in TMZ, the Memphis rapper filed a lawsuit against Epic Games alleging the video game company stole the dance move he created and animated it for use in their game without his permission.

In Fortnite, the dance move is called "Hype."

BlocBoy expressed disproval of Fortnite's use of his dance last year when he tweeted, "Dey Ain’t Create Nothing But Da Game So Basically Dey Takin Money And Credit For My Shit."

Epic Games is also currently facing two more separate lawsuits over other allegedly stolen dances. Brooklyn rapper 2 Milly, creator of the "Milly Rock" filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the company, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who coined "The Carlton" dance, is also suing.

In 2018, the Shoot dance was nominated in the Kids' Choice Award Favorite Dance Trend category.
