Blackalicious Splices 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' w/ Playful New Cut
Sacramento staples Blackalicious are on a roll in 2015. The "Alphabet Aerobics" architects dropped their first record in a decade last week in the expansive and dynamic Imani Vol. 1, but today they're giving us an animated audiovisual treat in the video for the lead-off single "The Blowup." The track's playful keys and wordplay are a perfect match for the whimsical Fox, whose multi-species cast gets on the good-foot and busts bars to the tune of Gift Of Gab's burly delivery, courtesy of the good folks at AnimalRobot, who have made their name mashing classic cartoons and animations with some of hip-hop's most celebrated anthems.
