In case you missed the memo, that long-rumored, borderline mythical final A Tribe Called Quest album will arrive in just two weeks time, according to a heartfelt handwritten note from Q-Tip.

It's a bittersweet moment for the group and fans alike after a year that was marked with the tragic loss of Phife Dawg; the sharp-tongued five-footer who was equal parts Tribe's comedic and spiritual heart. Tip claimed that Phife had "left us with the blueprint of what we had to do" for the soon-to-come album, which had began its conception upon leaving The Tonight Show last year; their first performance as a full unit in 18 years, and one of the very last times they would all be seen together onstage. And so, to help us contextualize just how we got here (where a new album not only in sight, but promised,) we've gathered some of the best stories from the last year to help you all complete the journey on the paths of rhythm, and contextualize this release as best we can.

Scroll on to peep the remembrances and tales from behind-the-boards from all the tribesman, immediate and extended.
