With spring comes less clothes, more outdoor events and sounds. Thanks to RBMA alum and Bastard Jazz Recordings artist, B. Bravo, we have some new tunes to jam out of our speakers for when the temperature is just right. On his latest cut, “Summer Love (Ride The Wave),” this Bay Area producer offers a fusion cut that highlights the best colors from jazz, funk, R&B and dance music.

His previous efforts “Freak It” and “Can’t Keep My Hands Off You” were full of musicality and heavy funk, paying tribute to the Ohio Players and Newcleus. But “Summer Love” plays like a cool margarita on a sunset-painted beach. Ultra-groovy, packed to the hilt with positive vibes, peppered with a touch of Roger Troutman — “Summer Love” will certainly be on repeat at Okayplayer HQ as we haggle with the higher ups about having a work day from Brighton Beach.

All these sounds can be found on B. Bravo’s next album, Paradise, which drops next Friday, April 7th via Bastard Jazz Recordings. Inspired by his move to Los Angeles from the Bay, meeting his wife in South East Asia and having a child – Paradise is the perfect place to have bumping in your earholes when the project drops next week.

Until then, listen to “Summer Love (Ride The Wave)” below and pre-order the album here.
