She may no longer have the ability to spew nonsense via Twitter, but that doesn’t mean Azealia Banks is done with us altogether. In fact, she just might be attempting win back our hearts with her latest release; a shockingly proficient cover of João Gilberto‘s bossa nova standard “Chega De Saudade,” revealing not only a surprisingly strong command of Portuguese, but also her criminally under-utilized vocal chops. Her latest mixtape Slay Z, released this past spring as 8-track project, finds Banks linking with the likes of Rick Ross, Kaytranada, Nina Sky and more. Hear Azealia Banks’ beautiful cover of João Gilberto’s ” bossa classic below and catch her on the road this summer.
