ASAP Rocky will no longer be performing in a Swedish prison where he was previously held earlier this year.
According to the New York Times, ASAP Rocky’s performance won’t be happening due to “logistical and security” issues. Vilhem Grevik of Sweden’s Prison and Probation Service reportedly said the prison board “won’t be able to organize a concert in the Kronoberg prison.”
Back in August, ASAP Rocky whose real name is Rakim Mayers was arrested after an altercation with a 19-year-old named Mustafa Jafari. He was later convicted of assault in Stockholm. After spending a month in prison, the artist and two of his bodyguards received “conditional sentences” following a public trial.
Additionally, Rocky was ordered to pay kr12,500 SEK in total (approximately $1,302) to the victim, reports HYPEBEAST. He also received a suspended sentence of two years probation with no additional jail time.
Mayers is slated to perform on December 11 at Stockholm’s Ericcson Globe arena.
